Hail! The Planes is a six-piece band from Cardiff, Wales.  They combine elements of alt-folk, post-rock and indie to create an expansive, dynamic sound that swells, flows and tumbles.  The band takes influence from instrumental acts such as Dirty Three and Do make Say Think, as well as vocally oriented indie such as Low and Broken Social Scene.

Things began in October 2007 when four friends got together and made a racket in a room above an estate agents.  Since then H!TP have have written, recorded and released some music, played some shows, played some festivals, had some songs on the radio and met some nice people.

In the meantime they had a bassist move to Japan.  He was replaced by a man wearing a bear suit (or was it a bear wearing a man suit?). Most recently the band have acquired two talented scamps from the Cardiff scene, bringing fresh influence to an evolving sound.
